FWB Park Brown in partnership with Diageo were delighted to, yesterday evening, host an event to celebrate International Women’s Day 2019.  We were pleased to welcome over 100 women across a variety of industries and sectors who are at various stages in their careers to the evening reception where Ann Budge shared her personal story which was then followed by a panel Q&A led by Kirsteen Campbell, CEO, SSPCA, Olivia Mason, Consultant (EY) and Member of their Workforce Advisory Graduate Programme and AnnMarie Phillips, Operations Director, Diageo.

Ann is most recently known as the Owner, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairwoman of Hearts of Midlothian Football Club.  In 2005, she received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from The Entrepreneurial Exchange and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  She has also been recognised by the world of academia, having been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Technology by Robert Gordon University in 2006 and Napier University in 2008, and an Honorary Doctorate of Science by Heriot-Watt University in 2016.

The International Women’s Day 2019 campaign theme #BalanceforBetter is a call to action for driving gender balance across the world.

FWB Park Brown, Director, Ailsa Sutherland said “FWB Park Brown is delighted to be supporting and promoting International Women’s Day 2019.”

We were all inspired by Ann’s story of her career, challenges and achievements. The outstanding themes of the evening were around living your company’s values, building excellent teams around you to help you succeed and following your instinct.

This year International Women’s Day will be celebrated on Friday 8 March.
