Edinburgh Festival, 2nd August 2019
Taking place in the heart of Edinburgh Festival, FWB Park Brown guests gathered to attend Victor Fung’s Dance Festival Preview performance ‘From the Top’ at Dance Base on Friday 2nd August. Welcomed by a refreshing drinks and canapes reception, the evening festivities opened with a flamenco pre-show dance featuring live music.
Victor’s performance pushed the boundaries of what dance can be and showcased new ways through which people can experience movement. The transnational collaboration brings people of various backgrounds together, engaging in artistic experimentation and creative processes. Victor collaborated this contemporary piece with comedic commentary, providing a refreshing narrative to the evening. All in all, a wonderful and inspiring show, highlighting the positive power of music and social engagement. Post-performance Victor Fung and his two performers mingled with the guests and shared their dance experiences, and were very excited to be a part of Edinburgh fringe at Dance Base.
