Decarbonising a Carbon Industry

  • Uncategorized

On Thursday 2nd May, in partnership with Apollo Engineering, FWB Park Brown hosted the latest in a series of successful Thought Leadership Events at the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen. Forty senior industry leaders from the oil and gas sector and beyond joined us for an evening of discussion, centred around the theme of “Decarbonising a Carbon Industry” – aiming to explore the oil and gas industry’s future in a new reality driven by sustainability and growing environmental concern.

Colette Cohen, CEO, Oil and Gas Technology Centre

Gordon Ballard, Executive Director, International Association of Oil & Gas Producers

The evening’s discussions were led by Colette Cohen, CEO of the Oil and Gas Technology Centre and Gordon Ballard, Executive Director at the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers.

FWB Park Brown has been delivering these events to oil and gas leaders regularly over the last few years to help provoke thought and generate commentary on the current issues within the industry.

Jonathan White, Apollo Business Development Director, said:
“The low carbon agenda has been set in the UK, and whilst oil and gas is an important part of the energy mix in the foreseeable future it is critically important that our industry has a positive and influential voice in the discussion to enable a low carbon future. Equally we need to be pursuing new technologies not just for hydrocarbon extraction but to enable low cost, sustainable energy for developing nations and their economies. Our Thought Leadership Event series continues to ask these questions and challenge our industry leadership in the topics affecting us today.”
