FWB Park Brown and Apollo Engineering host Decommissioning Discussion

  • Uncategorized

In conjunction with Apollo Engineering, FWB Park Brown hosted our latest thought leadership event at Trinity Hall in Aberdeen with a room full of senior industry leaders from the oil & gas sector. We have been delivering these events to oil and gas leaders over the past three years to help provoke thought and comment on the issues that matter to the industry. The latest in the series was on the topic of decommissioning with the aim of debating how the headline cost of the task can be reduced whilst the supply chain develops an offering at a viable price. The attendees heard from Ian Fozdar, Decommissioning Manager UK for the Oil & Gas Authority on how the government is stimulating cost reduction initiatives as well as from Graeme Fergusson, Managing Director of Decom Energy as to the role of a “decommissioning” operator.

As usual the debate was lively and covered the topic in depth with contribution from operators, technology providers and the contracting community.

Ian Fozdar commented “well done to FWB Park Brown & Apollo for taking the initiative to organise such a thoughtful forum, and for running it in a way inviting for attendees to contribute too. I gained many insights from various one-on-one discussions before/after, and from the group during the Q&A”, whilst Graeme Fergusson said “many thanks for the opportunity to speak at such a high quality event. I really enjoyed the evening and the discussion.”

Stuart Cochrane, Director FWB Park Brown commented “we work hard to ensure the right people are in the room to drive a high quality discussion on a very relevant and current topic, such as decommissioning. We will continue to work with Apollo Engineering to ensure future events offer value and interest to those attending.”
