About the role

Decom North Sea is a vibrant, well established not-for-profit organisation with a membership approaching 370 companies. The organisation provides the pan European North Sea decommissioning sector with a forum for networking and influencing on key issues impacting on the industry. Decom North Sea also undertakes industry wide initiatives in areas such as collaboration, technology application, supply chain intelligence and the facilitation of business opportunities for companies involved in the decommissioning sector.

The need to appoint a new Chief Executive of the highest calibre has arisen following the recent decision of the previous incumbent to step down from the post. The new appointee will inherit a well-run organisation that has delivered many successes and has established a high profile on behalf of its members and stakeholders.

The remit of the new Chief Executive will be to provide the vision, leadership, drive, credibility and know-how required to continue the success story and build on the reputation of Decom North Sea as an influential entity representing members of the decommissioning industry.

We seek a respected leader to provide the necessary direction and focus towards the expectations of the members and stakeholders and deliver with passion and commitment the Decom North Sea strategy. The Chief Executive will be commercially astute, with proven abilities in business planning and implementation. Furthermore, the appointee will bring a credible track record of delivery and be capable of successfully building Decom North Sea’s identity throughout the North Sea’s energy community. This individual should possess outstanding strategic relationship development skills and the ability to work cohesively with a diverse range of member companies, as well as external stakeholders. Ensuring that Decom North Sea continues to play a central role in engaging and collaborating with members, the broader industry, as well as governmental, trade and industry bodies is critical to ensure that the challenges and opportunities in the North Sea decommissioning arena are addressed.
