Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Bella & Duke are experts in the provision and delivery of raw, natural pet nutrition direct to the customer. Founded in 2016 the business is passionate about doing the right thing for our canine friends, providing them with a species specific diet of high quality meats, offal and bone in exactly the right proportions – as nature intended. One of the objectives of the business is pet wellness which, in turn, contributes to owner well-being.

The company has quickly developed an excellent track record and strong reputation. Bella & Duke have a highly scalable and compelling business model with high-quality products. This is reflected in the growth of their UK sales and potential for international expansion and diversification into other areas of natural pet nutrition and wellness.

The shared ambition of the founders and external investors has created the opportunity to add to the existing strength of the Leadership team with the appointment of an outstanding Chief Financial Officer to join the Board.

The CFO will be a qualified accountant, with excellent financial and commercial acumen and a clear track record of his or her contribution to growing a business. The ability to balance detail and ‘hands on’ ownership of the numbers with high level strategic input, business planning and value creation will be important attributes to have. The CFO will be expected to drive further professionalising of the infrastructure of the business, provide leadership to the Finance and HR functions and add value across all areas of the business. A capacity to manage multiple, often complex, projects, support rapid growth and ensure the timely and accurate provision of the level of management information required will be key.

We are open-minded on background but exposure to a sales and marketing led business combined with entrepreneurial, scale up (technology) experience is strongly preferred. Corporate Finance experience and prior exposure to Private Equity investment, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, will also be valuable. This is an extremely compelling opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a very exciting, innovative and ambitious business, based in Scotland.
