Chief Operating Officer

About the role

**NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS**

TauRx, a leader in Alzheimer’s research, was set up with a mission to discover, develop and commercialise innovative products for the diagnosis, treatment and cure of neurodegenerative disorders.  Since its inception, TauRx has raised almost US$700m to fund its research and development activity and TauRx’s lead product, LMTX®, is now in late-stage clinical development for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

To support TauRx’s ongoing development programme and lead UK operations through the next phase of clinical trials and beyond, the business seeks to appoint a first-class COO.

While experience in the life sciences sector would be beneficial, we are very interested in engaging with candidates from a broad business background, with previous project management and P&L responsibility, who can bring these general skills to play in leading a research-based organisation through an ambitious and critical period of development.

The successful appointee will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day-to-day running of Aberdeen-based operations, including oversight and coaching of the teams developing the lead commercial drug candidate
  • Overseeing all clinical development and related activities including assessment of satisfactory delivery of subcontracted services to ensure that studies and projects are undertaken and completed on time
  • Taking P&L responsibility for the Aberdeen operations including budget preparation, on-going expenditure monitoring and financial reporting
  • Providing operational insight in support of the Exec Chairman’s decision-making
