About the role

CLAN Cancer Support is the north east of Scotland’s longest established and largest, local, independent cancer support charity. Since its establishment in 1983, CLAN has supported thousands of cancer patients and their families, carers and friends throughout the North East of Scotland and the Northern Isles. CLAN has grown hugely as an organisation and provides its unique model of care and support through facilities at CLAN House and within the communities it serves. The organisation is recognised as an important part of the region’s DNA.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our CLAN team; playing an integral role in continued public profile and awareness of our successful organisation.  Demonstrating knowledge, experience and creative flair, the role of Communications and Marketing Manager works alongside the CEO and senior team to lead CLAN’s PR, marketing and communications activities (both internally and externally).

Working across all departments in CLAN, this role will support all operational and income generating objectives, helping to maintain and build on CLAN’s reputation and existing positive brand.  The successful candidate will work strategically to design, plan and implement a creative and innovative approach to CLAN’s communications and marketing.  Applicants should be able to evidence a strong portfolio of communications campaigns utilising multiple channels and a knowledge of the regional and national media landscape.  The ability to grow and maintain relationships both internally and externally is essential to this role.  An existing network of media contacts is desirable but not essential.
