Executive Director, North America

About the role

The Dollywood Foundation, founded by Dolly Parton, an American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, record producer, actress, author, and businesswoman, began in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Shortly after the opening of the Dollywood theme park in 1986, the Dollywood Foundation was created in April 1988, and began by offering scholarships to local high school students. From there it grew into the Imagination Library, started in 1995, which distributes free books to children monthly, up until the age of 5.

Today, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library partners with 1,745 organisations serving 9,300 communities to gift books each month to over 1.3 million children across the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Australia. The Imagination Library celebrated achieving 100 million books gifted this past March with Dolly dedicating the milestone book to the Library of Congress archives.

They are in search of an Executive Director for North America to continue The Dollywood Foundation’s Vision and Mission to expand and deepen Dolly’s legacy with children and explore new opportunities to extend and enrich Dolly’s legacy. This role will support the President to ensure the Foundation has a current and long-range strategy and assist in the development of current and long-term goals.
