Walkers Shortbread is one of Scotland’s most iconic and respected companies as well as being a significant employer and continues to have ambitious plans and to offer exciting opportunities.  Its signature pure butter shortbread is baked in the Speyside village of Aberlour to an original family recipe perfected by Joseph Walker in 1898 and it has gone on to develop many other excellent products and a truly global business.  With over 70% of the export market for UK shortbread, its original product justifiably lays claim to be “the World’s Finest Shortbread”. It is also an award winning business, most recently as “Family Business of the Year” and “Exemplary Employer of Choice”.

On the forthcoming retirement of the incumbent, the opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Finance Director to join the Board. Based in beautiful Speyside, they will lead the finance function in line with the overall strategy of the business. Consequently, this is as much a commercial and strategic role as it is a financial and technical one and therefore requires a dynamic individual who can support the business and add value across it. Candidates will have gravitas, a strength of character and robustness as well the emotional intelligence to quickly get to grips with the history, heritage and of course long term family ownership. We are open minded about sector background.
