About the role

Citgo is a US-based refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products headquartered in Houston Texas. The company owns three large and complex refineries in the United States and is the 5th largest refiner in the country.  The company has over 3,400 employees and also owns and operates terminals, pipelines, and lubricant blending and packing plants.  Citgo also has over 5,500 branded retail outlets across America.

The General Auditor is responsible for developing, securing approval and implementing enhancements, revisions and updates to the company’s internal audit program. The role will also be responsible for presenting, making recommendations for and coordinating corrective actions based on audit results. This individual will direct, manage and review investigations of all instances of alleged fraud and material misconduct. The General Auditor will manage acquisition due diligence and operations integrations, as well as, monitor, evaluate and ensure accuracy of internal controls, systems and procedures. The role requires coordination with internal and external auditors to ensure each is aware of areas of concern and providing management and the audit committee an opinion on the effectiveness of internal controls within all of the operating units as well as corporate.
