About the role

They have been publicly listed since 1992 although the company has been operating bus & coach services in the UK for over forty years and for even longer in the Spanish part of the Group. With support from Group, the new Managing Director for Dundee will have a fantastic opportunity to lead a reputable local business and work closely with an established local management team who are currently delivering an excellent service, with a 91% customer satisfaction score in 2017. Starting at this elevated point, the Managing Director will continually look at ways to improve the internal processes and efficiencies which will enhance these standards in the years to come. This is a high-profile role in the local community, therefore the new Managing Director will be naturally adept at managing external stakeholder relationships, working with trade unions and with local authorities.

National Express are seeking to appoint an experienced, financially aware and hands-on Managing Director with a commitment to delivering an excellent service. Experience of working with a unionised staff is crucial. Experience of leading a business that is closely associated with the public domain would also be valuable. The candidate will most likely come from the transportation, logistics or manufacturing sectors; however, we also welcome applications from other related sectors.

The Managing Director should be based within a commutable distance from Dundee or be prepared to relocate to the area.

This is a potentially career defining role for an ambitious Managing Director to join a FTSE 250 business; to lead and shape an already successful & profitable organisation that delivers a vital service to the local community.
