Marketing Director

About the role

Founded in 1854, Howden is a business with great history and heritage and is a leading global player for industrial air and gas handling equipment, employing around 6000 people in 26 countries.  With a turnover in excess of $1.7bn, it has its HQ in Glasgow and is part of the Colfax Corporation (NYSE:CFX).

The Marketing Director will be a key member of the Howden leadership team and will lead the marketing strategy for the business as it continues to diversify globally, to address significant changes in the market.  He/she will be responsible for driving Howden’s transformation into a strategic marketing company and will develop the marketing organisation globally, together with a strategic marketing process and plan, to support the long-term goals of the company and to meet customer needs.

Howden is looking to appoint a seasoned Marketing Director with international experience ideally in an engineered products/industrial environment who has significant experience and track record of successfully implementing digital transformation and deployment of Data Driven Advantage (DDA).  Candidates will therefore have the experience required to bring instant credibility to the function internally, to be able to “sell the benefits” of marketing within the business and provide strong leadership to the company’s marketing activities. They will bring rigour and strategic thinking to the role and drive success through the marketing organisation.  They will manage and develop talent to ensure a strong structure across the function.  This will be a hands-on role, working closely with the Executive Director of Strategy and the CEO and leading the entire Howden marketing function.

Howden’s strategic vision is to be number one in the segments it chooses to operate in – and this role will be influential and visible in helping achieve this.

The Marketing Director will ideally be based in Scotland and can commute to Glasgow but we will consider candidates in the UK/Europe who are willing to travel regularly to Glasgow HQ and globally, as required.
