This opportunity has now been filled

Partner – Business Advisory / Accounting

About the role

Our client is a well-established, growing, and award-winning accountancy practice.  Due to continued growth, we are now looking to appoint a commercial and strategic accounting professional to join the partnership and lead the Business Advisory & Accounting department.

Over the last two years, our client has received multiple industry awards, has significantly increased its turnover, and correspondingly has expanded its headcount across all levels, and has invested in new markets, office locations and departments.

As part of the firm’s drive to continue the growth of the business, and to support its own succession planning, it is now looking to add an additional partner to help spearhead its growth objectives.  With the benefit of an existing strong client base, this role is an opportunity to shape the future success of the Business Advisory & Accounting department, and indeed the wider firm.  The department, which is the second largest in the firm, provides a comprehensive range of accounting, compliance and business advisory services to a diverse client base across the private and not-for-profit sectors, and often acts as an ‘outsourced’ Finance function.

First and foremost, this is a leadership position, and candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong track record in managing and developing teams.  Alongside this, managing a diverse client and project portfolio, ensuring high standards of work are delivered on time and to budget is paramount.  Building and developing working relationships (both internally and externally) is equally critical, as is identifying areas for change and improvement, and driving through that change.

Working across the partnership to raise the profile of the firm as a market leader in this area, and through that driving fee income, is essential.  A keen interest in and a demonstrable track record in the adoption of technology to enhance business processes and client propositions would be hugely advantageous, as key to the continued success of the department will be to develop the firm’s digital / cloud accounting offering.

Candidates will likely currently be Partners or Directors within an accountancy practice, or a Finance Director / Portfolio Finance Director within industry.

Entrepreneurial flair, a natural networker, and a capacity to act as a trusted client advisor (alongside commercialism) is key.
