Our client is a highly successful, private equity backed service provider to the Renewables industry. The company has an extensive internal plant holding that operates globally, mainly supporting internal contract operations. This ranges from small tools, to vehicles, to access platforms, and up to a substantial fleet of heavy cranes and associated road transport.

Our client is looking to appoint a Plant Director who will report directly to the CEO and will take responsibility for the entire asset base of the business, implementing all the systems required to support the independent operation of the inventory including the commercial controls and processes to provide arm’s length services to both internal and external projects.

The plant division also coordinates and procures the supply of externally hired equipment from third parties to augment the internal resources and is responsible for the commercial administration of these suppliers. The division currently provides equipment and services to internal and external customers equivalent to a turnover of approx. €35 million per annum.

The ideal candidate must have experience of managing a Plant Hire business with experience in the provision of the full range of assets from tooling to heavy plant.  Potentially currently working in a regional hire business or SME in the general plant, haulage or crane hire sectors. Knowledge of plant maintenance processes, relevant statutory regulations for lifting appliances and road haulage would be preferred. Emphasis will be placed on a proven track record in delivering strong financial results in a plant hire business recognising the need to optimise CAPEX and OPEX planning.

This is a senior role in a successful and fast-growing business, operating in a booming sector.
