Weir Flow Control Division (2015 full year: revenues £302m, operating profit £22m) designs, manufactures and provides aftermarket support for specialist and critical – service rotating and flow control equipment to the global power generation and industrial sectors. The division includes the Group’s valve operations, a specialist pump business and substantial service and aftermarket operations with locations in Europe, Middle East, North America, China, India and South Africa.

Accountabilities

Develop, drive and ensure the HR strategy is fit for purpose for Weir flow.

Assess the current HR and leadership capability and build a human capital plan in partnership with the CEO.

Determine the best HR operating model to ensure that all HR transactions are effectively executed across the organisation and all systems, processes and HR activities are aligned whilst delivering cost effective functional support.

Serve as a key advisor to the CEO by building a trusted relationship, and learning the businesses.  Additionally, build authentic relationships across the company and with the Executive Leadership Team by demonstrating trustworthiness, business acumen, results, and a strong yet down to earth character.

Support the development and delivery of the strategic plan, ensuring HR best practice and effective HR solutions covering reward, attraction, retention and growth.

Direct, lead and motivate the Weir HR team, harnessing talent, skills and energy to achieve the team objectives.  Creating a performance culture via an environment of accountability for performance & results, setting expectations, supporting development and rewarding contribution.

Provide effective coaching of senior management and development of a coaching culture within Weir.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Human Resources Business Partnership and Business Knowledge – commercially-minded HR leader with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in all of the HR functional areas.

Global Experience – has significant global experience, working across cultures and geographies. Proven capability in leading HR in emerging markets.

Demonstrates success in partnering with a CEO in leading a highly-accountable, results-focused company, with a visible commitment to mission, core values and operating principles.
