Scott Pallets is the largest operating division of Scott Group and is the UK’s largest, most successful pallet supplier. From whisky to construction, and packaging to chemicals, their pallets are used by businesses in every industrial sector throughout the UK, to safely and sustainably transport their goods to market. Scott Pallets is headquartered in Halbeath, Dunfermline with sites throughout the UK, split into the four distinct regions of Scotland, North, West and East. In 2015 the Scott Group acquired HLC Wood Product which operates alongside the Scott’s Timber business.

As the business continues to grow and plans for future growth, it has been identified that the organisation requires a new Supply Chain Director to manage all procurement, supply chain planning and logistics operations for Scott Pallets Ltd.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for the incumbent to lead and develop an industry leading Supply Chain function for the Scott Pallets business and drive value across an already successful and profitable business.

As Supply Chain Director for Scott Pallets you will become part of the senior leadership team within the business with the key responsibility being the procurement of all goods and services for the business. You will also have responsibility for leading and directing the procurement team in all activity across the business. You will develop, implement and manage the procurement and supply chain strategy for the Company.

You will report directly to the Managing Director and contribute to the smooth running of the operation as a senior member of the business within a cross functional management team.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • The development of a ‘best in class’ leading strategic procurement function and identification and delivery of cost saving opportunities aligned to business requirements
  • Overall management of a complex supply chain including procurement, materials planning and logistics operations
  • Involvement in reviewing and improving the organisations indirect spend on services such as property and logistics
  • Ongoing development of supplier base and communication to the Exec Board of any major market trends and commodity price variations
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations, legislation and Company processes/procedures

We are looking to speak to experienced Supply Chain leaders who have a proven track record of developing business procurement strategies and an understanding of Supply Chain planning and Logistics. The successful candidates will be CIPS qualified and have experience of operating in a senior leadership position within a multi-site manufacturing organisation.
