  •  Johnstons of Elgin, renowned worldwide for its cashmere and fine woollens, has appointed Simon Cotton as Chief Executive.  He joins from Swiss conglomerate Franke.
  • Tom Deane has joined Tesco Bank as Director of Audit.  He was previously with Lloyds Banking Group in London. Hollie Glover also joins as EA to CEO Benny Higgins.
  • Will Whitehorn has been appointed Chairman of Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC).  He spent many years at Virgin Group where latterly he was President of Virgin Galactic.  He is also a Non Executive Director of Stagecoach Group.
  • Aggreko plc has appointed Grant Nairn as Group Director of IT Operations and Service Delivery.  He was formerly with Scottish Water and Lloyds Banking Group.
  • The National Trust for Scotland has appointed Patrick Duffy, previously CEO of Cardiff Airport as its new Director of Properties and Visitor Services.
  • Scottish Water has appointed Alan Scott as its Finance Director.  He joined from Balfour Beatty where he was FD of Balfour Beatty Regional.  Previously he was FD of Miller Construction.
  • Autobar Group, one of Europe’s leading vending organisations, has appointed John Nugent as Finance Director of Autobar Group France, based in Paris.   John was previously Finance Director – France at Selecta, Autobar’s main European competitor.
  • Steve McLaughlin, formerly Chief Commercial Officer at the Telegraph Media Group in London has joined distance learning company ICS as Chief Executive.  ICS is owned by venture capital firm Par Equity.
  • Marketing Edinburgh, which promotes the city around the world has appointed John Donnelly as its Chief Executive.  He was previously Commercial Director of Glasgow 2014.
  • Capital Document Solutions, Scotland’s largest independent supplier of office equipment and document solutions has appointed Murray Rudkin as Commercial Director.  He was previously UK MD of the US firm Life Fitness.
  • Conal Harte is the new European Sales Director for Touch Bionics, the provider of world leading prosthetic technologies.  He joins from the orthotics company Trulife in Dublin.
  • Smith Anderson, the family-owned food service packaging company has appointed Sean Harley as Operations Director.  Based in Kirkcaldy, he is responsible for all production, engineering and continuous improvement activities and joins from Boston Scientific in Dublin where he was Operations Manager.
  • Babcock International in Rosyth has appointed James McGonigal as Strategic Development Manager.  James joins from Retronix, a private UK manufacturing business providing manufacturing, test and analysis services to multiple B2B sectors. Charles Grant has also been appointed as Corporate Planning Manager.  He is a recent Saltire Fellow who joins Babcock after his placement with Wood Group PLC.
  • Rob Kennedy has been appointed CFO of Optos plc – the leading provider of devices and solutions to eye care professionals.  He had previously joined via FWB as Group Director of Finance – so congratulations to him.
  • Scopus Engineering, the specialist electronic survey business servicing the worldwide offshore/onshore Oil & Gas industry (and subject to a significant investment by Growth Capital Partners) has appointed Mark Fraser as CFO.  He joins from Baker Hughes where he was based in the US.
  • In a number of other Financial Director moves, Paul McCourt, formerly of Ingenico has joined Menzies Distribution; Murray Falconer has joined Caledonian Plywood from Highland Spring and Chris Lea is now CFO at Superglass PLC, having joined from Aviagen.  Claire Lithgow, formerly of City Building is the new FD of Scottish Canals and Fergus Dick has joined Acoura from Tui Travel.  Acoura, backed by Canter Equity Partners, supplies assurance and related services across the food and drink supply chain.
  • Exova, one of the world’s leading providers of testing, calibration and advisory services has appointed Neil MacLennan as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary.  He joins from Dickson Minto.
  • Mark Sinclair is the new Director of Corporate Services for The James Hutton Institute, the world leading research institute for land, crops, water and the environment.  He joins from The States of Jersey, an independent crown dependency with its own Government and legal system.
  • Michael Johnston has joined William Grant & Sons in the key role of Process Area Leader at its Girvan plan.  He was previously with Glen Turner.
  • Bloxx, the Angel-backed Web Content Filtering company has appointed Mark Gibson as Sales Director.  Mark joins from Capita and was previously Sales & Marketing Director of Memex.
  • Keith Barclay and Maurice Shamash have joined Souter Investments, the investment vehicle of Stagecoach founder Sir Brian Souter and family.  They were previously with BLAS and Lloyds Banking Group respectively.
  • Advanced Microwave Technologies is a global leader in the use of microwaves to heat and condition liquids and semi solids.  Stephen Roe is the new CEO and was previously CEO of Guralp Systems.
