Former Telegraph Media chief joins distance learning company ICS Learn

Steve McLaughlin was most recently chief commercial officer at the Telegraph Media Group and has also held senior positions at Trinity Mirror.

Mr McLaughlin intends to help ICS, which has its registered office in Edinburgh and main premises in Glasgow, extend its digital content around the world.

He said: “The education technology sector is extremely vibrant at the moment. There is real impetus from both governments and private companies across the world to create workforces that are better qualified and better skilled.

“It’s a fantastic time to be joining ICS Learn, at a time when the market is growing. My background is very much within content-based businesses and ICS Learn is exactly that.”

ICS, which employs more than 50 people, offers around 150 courses across a range of subjects.  It was acquired by a syndicate of investors in November last year with the deal being led by Edinburgh venture capital firm Par Equity.
