FWB Park Brown are pleased to announce we have recently advised on the following appointments.  It is particularly interesting that these searches have both started and competed during the various phases of lockdown and are great examples of a new and efficient way of working. Stay well.

Edrington, owners of amongst others, The Macallan, Highland Park, The Famous Grouse and the international rum, Brugal has appointed Angus Cockburn as a Non Executive Director and Chair  of  Audit Committee. He is CFO of Serco plc and formerly the CFO of Aggreko plc. He is also currently a Senior Independent Director of FTSE 100 Ashtead plc and an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh.

Jim Pettigrew has been appointed as Chair of the world-renowned Scottish Ballet and succeeds Norman Murray into the position. Until recently Jim was Chairman of Virgin Money plc and like Norman, he is a former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Novosound is an IP rich company that designs, manufactures and sells ultrasound sensors for a number of markets, including the Oil & Gas sector. Derek Mathieson has been appointed as Chair and will help guide it through its next stage of exciting and ambitious development. He was recently Chief Marketing & Technology Officer for Baker Hughes.

Internationally respected Howden has 5400 employees across 29 countries, is an expert in air and gas handling and it’s solutions are used in key applications all around the world.  Angela Manson, formerly of Cigna and Shell, has joined as Global Reward Manager.

Edinburgh Innovations is the University of Edinburgh’s commercialisation service and benefits society and the economy by helping researchers, students and industry drive innovation. Amy Rafferty, formerly Head of Public Relations at Scottish Conservatives, is now Head of Communications and Marketing.

Weir Group PLC,  which creates innovative engineering solutions for the minerals, oil & gas, power and industrial markets globally has appointed Jonathan Horrell to the newly created role of Head of Sustainability. This role recognises the critical role Weir’s innovative engineering has in making its main markets more sustainable, including reducing energy, waste and water consumption. He joins from Mondelez where he was Director of Sustainability.

William Grant & Sons, famous for, amongst others Glenfiddich, Grants, Hendricks Gin, Balvenie and Monkey Shoulder has appointed Mark Dawson as Global Procurement Director. He joins from Britvic where he was Director of Procurement.

Following an MBI backed by Foresight Capital and Maven Capital , chemical manufacturer FIS Chemicals has appointed Derek Mathieson as Chair and Gordon Davidson as Finance Director. Derek had been Chief Marketing and Technology Officer at Baker Hughes and Gordon has previously worked with Maven.

He was the co-founder and former CEO of Omscientia Inc, a  membrane protein structural biology specialist in Carlsbad CA.

Former Mastermind winner and ‘15 to 1’ Grand Champion, Peter Finan, has joined Novel Technologies as Sales Director. He joins from Microban Inc where he was Strategic Account Specialist EMEA. Novel has created an eco-friendly antimicrobial technology to develop an anti-smell fabric.

ROVOP, specialists in subsea Remotely Operated Vehicles , has appointed Paul Yeats as Chief Commercial Officer. He was previously Global Director, Subsea Products with iTech-7 (Subsea 7).

Mark Ashman has joined global broiler breeding business Aviagen as UK Finance Director. He was previously Group Finance Director with Peak Scientific.

Carla Roberts has joined the Scottish Football Association as Interim Director of Finance & IT. She previously held the position of Projects Finance Director with Weir Group. She will hold the position until February 2021 when a permanent appointment will be made.

Mike Hartley has joined leading social enterprise and charity Cyrenians as Commercial Director and Head of Trading Services. He was previously Managing Director of Newsco Insider and Commercial Director (Media Scotland) with Trinity Mirror PLC.
