Appointments

Susan Aitkenhead has joined the Royal College of Nursing in the hugely important role of Director, Scotland, from her previous role as Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for England. A registered nurse for 33 years, she trained at Glasgow Western and Glasgow South Colleges of Nursing. One of Scotland’s first Consultant Nurses, Susan has had a diverse nursing career in clinical and professional leadership roles.

Dalmore Capital is an independent fund manager providing investors with access to long term opportunities in infrastructure assets. Rachel Turnbull has been appointed as Managing Director of a new subsidiary and joins with Des French as Operations Director, both joining from from Semperian PPP Investment Partners / Imagile Group.

Following an extensive talent search exercise, Sky has appointed Michelle Duchan, Vish Bagga and Herbie Cheema as Head of Service Operations across three different UK locations in their market leading Customer Service Group.

The Scottish Football Association has appointed Rucelle Soutar as its Chief Financial Officer. She joins from the Royal Military Tattoo where she was the Chief Operating Officer.

In a number of other Financial Director appointments, Chris Ventre has joined urban streetwear brand 11 degrees; Norman Ross joins Walker’s Shortbread; Victoria Woods  joins leading UK PR & Digital agency The BIG Partnership and Loraine Strachan is the new Executive Director of Finance & Operations for The Law Society of Scotland.

Subsea energy storage and energy generation specialist EC-OG has appointed Bob MacDonald as Chair. He brings a wealth of experience across the energy transition and industrial markets and will support the business as it gears up for a period of rapid growth. Bob was previously Chief Executive Officer of Wood’s Specialist Technology Solutions division.

RF Brown, the storage solutions specialist which has recently been backed by Foresight private equity, has appointed Ken Lewandowski as its Chair. He is also Chair of Emblation Medical, ScotScope Technology and Wren & Fraser.

The Promise Oversight Board has been set up following the Government’s independent care review which listened to thousands of experiences from in and around the care system. The Board will now make sure Scotland makes the changes needed and it will be wide-ranging and representative of Scotland’s system of care. The Federation of Scottish Theatre is Scotland’s membership and development body for professional dance , opera and theatre. Fiona Sturgeon Shea has been appointed CEO and joins from Playwrights Studio Scotland.

Alex Begg produces luxury cashmere scarves and throws for some of the worlds most prestigious fashion houses as well as for its own brand Begg & Co. It has appointed Oscar Macdonald as Global Commercial Director.

Baxters Food Group, one of Scotland’s most iconic businesses, continues to grow its operations internationally across North America, Europe and Australia.  Gareth Riach joins in the new role of Group Treasury Manager, having previously spent most of his career in the Financial Services sector.

Renowned worldwide for its Scottish Salmon, Loch Duart has announced the double appointment of Roy Charlesy to the position of Operations Director and Adam Gray to the role of Marketing & Communications Manager. Roy joins from Dunkeld Trout Hatcheries where he was Chief Executive, relocating from South Africa, and Adam joins from AG Barr, where he was most recently International Marketing Manager.

PE- backed The Paint Shed is the UK’s most recommended independent paint retailer. Gemma Connolly has been appointed Head of E-Commerce and joins from Michael Kors and Darren Jones is now Head of Operations and is formerly of Travis Perkins and Amazon.

Chris McKendrick joins stem cell specialist WSA Holdings as CEO, having previously been CEO of Arran Aromatics, COO of Dobbies Garden Centres, Evans Cycles and Cath Kidston.

Epigenetica is a high growth biotechnology company which has made significant progress in the development of a crop epigenetic delivery system.  Claire Shepherd Malins joins as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary and was previously Senior Legal Counsel at TVSquared.

Family owned Gordon & MacPhail, now in its 125th year and creators of single malt scotch whisky of exceptional quality, has appointed Steven George as Head of Finance.

Lesley Laird has joined PE-backed global testing business Element Materials Technology as Finance Director – EMEA Shared Services. She brings extensive experience of running and developing global shared service functions with both Sky and SThree Group.

Horizon Cremation is building and operating a new generation of community crematoria across the UK. To help facilitate growth, the business, backed by Maven Capital Partners, has recently appointed Ed Robertson to the role of Senior Finance Manager, based in Glasgow. Ed, an Australian national, joins from the Toll Group in Brisbane, Australia.

Neil Scott has joined growing process engineering contractor Edwards Engineering as Operations Director. After starting his career with Mott MacDonald, Neil returns from 20 years in the Middle East working with Jaggard Group, Logica and RA International.

Ian Forgie has been appointed Deputy CEO of Prestwick Airport. He is formerly FD of the Airport and of Smarter Grid Solutions and First Milk Group.

Subsea equipment specialists Ashtead Technology has appointed Lili Hughes as Group QHSE Manager. She joins from Parker Drilling where she was previously the Global QHSSE Manager.

Unique Group, a global engineering and subsea company servicing the offshore oil and gas and maritime industries, has appointed Karthi Sekkappan as Head of Design Engineering of the Diving & Life Support division in South Africa. He was previously Technical Engineering Manager at Bendalls Engineering (Carr’s Group).

Lee Parker has joined leading utility connections company Energetics as Associate Director Operations. He joins from Amazon where he was Senior Operations Manager.

Doug Moyes has been appointed to the role of Director of Customer Service with Blackwood Group (Homes and Care). Doug has been promoted from his role as Area Service Manager, having joined the organisation in 2015. Doug has over 20 years’ experience in social housing, care and justice.
