Appointments
First of all, we’re delighted to announce that FWB Park Brown Co-Founder Judy Wagner has been selected to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE). Established in 1783, it is Scotland’s National Academy dedicated to ‘the advancement of learning and useful knowledge’. With an existing fellowship of around 1600 leading thinkers and practitioners, the RSE delivers its mission through inspiring young talent, engaging with the public on key contemporary issues, providing expertise to policy makers and promoting Scotland’s profile and reputation on a global scale. Congrats Judy – it is quite an honour!
Listed renewable energy supplier, Good Energy Group PLC, has appointed Nigel Pocklington as its Chief Executive. He takes over from Founder Juliet Davenport OBE, who will transition into a Non-Executive role within the group. Former Chief Commercial Officer of Moneysupermarket Group, Nigel has also held senior roles within Expedia Inc., including President of eBookers and Chief Marketing Officer of Hotels.com.
Newly quoted Artisanal Spirits Company plc, owner of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, has appointed Lesley Jackson and Helen Page as Non Executive Directors. Lesley has been CFO of Stock Spirits plc and William Grant & Sons and is also a Non Executive Director of Devro plc and Helen is the Chief Brand Officer of Virgin Money plc.
Leading property consultancy Galbraith has appointed former Johnston Carmichael Chair, Andrew Shepherd, as its new Chair to help continue the growth and development of the firm. He is also a Non Executive Director of Scotbeef and of London-based accountancy practice PKF Littlejohn.
Recently backed by Foresight Capital, RGM Vent offers design, manufacturing and installation expertise and service in ductwork and specialist fabrication across the UK and Ireland and has appointed Ken Lewandowski as Chair. He also chairs RF Brown, ShotScope, Emblation Medical and Wren & Fraser.
PE-backed Bella & Duke, the fast-growing direct-to-consumer raw petfood business, has appointed Peter Farquhar, the former Forthglade Chair, as its new Chair.

It has appointed new Board members comprising Chair, Dr Susan Hetrick of Zuhra Consulting and Directors, Gautam Dev, Head of Talent and Change at Abrdn plc, Fiona Logan, CEO of Insights and Donna Lynn Hilton, Artistic Director of Godspeed Musicals in Connecticut.
Priyesh Ranmal, formerly Head of Digital Experience for NatWest Group has joined leading broadcaster and telco Sky as Head of Digital Disruption and Transformation.
Cooper Software, a leading ERP specialist, continues to grow impressively and has made two significant appointments. Jonathan Dunn joins from Arum as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer and David Greenlees is now Chief Commercial Officer, joining from Priority Software.
Greg Aitken is now Finance Director of PE-backed and fast growing Quorum Cyber, which defends teams and organisations from the increasing risk of cyber security breaches and attacks. He joins from Iomart plc.
Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) has appointed Sarah Willis as its first CFO. Founded in 2013 it is an agritech and smart space solutions business with a core mission to create optimal conditions for vertical farming through a commercially viable model based on highly controlled technology solutions. She joins from Spirit Energy where she was Head of Finance Operations.
Alyson Donaldson is the new CFO of Vets Now, the leading dedicated out-of-hours emergency and critical care service for pets. She joins from Diageo where latterly she was Financial Director for International Supply.
Nick Rennie has joined Scottish Cycling as its new Chief Executive. As the national governing body for cycling in Scotland, it develops the sport across multiple disciplines and at all levels, from grass roots to the performance development programmes which feed into the Great Britain Cycling Team and Team Scotland for the Commonwealth Games. He brings a wealth of experience to the role having previously worked with sportscotland, the Scottish Institute of Sport, Scottish Rugby and most recently for Scottish Curling.
With over £8bn of assets and 84000 members, Lothian Pension Fund administers the Local Government Pension Scheme in Edinburgh and the Lothians. David Vallery, previously Chief Financial Officer with Police Mutual, is its new CEO.
The Nuclear Liabilities Fund (formerly the Nuclear Generation Decommissioning Fund) provides arrangements for funding certain long-term costs for the decommissioning of eight nuclear power stations formerly owned by British Energy, now EDF Energy. Andrew Sands, formerly of Standard Life Aberdeen, joins as its Finance Executive.
Norfolk-based Anglia Maltings is a very significant player in the maltings and food ingredients industry, serving a range of international customers. George Thompson joins as Group Financial Director and is formerly of both Shell and EY.
David Acosta joins famous Scottish brand Walkers Shortbread in the key role of Head of New Product Development. He joins from Pladis in Manchester where he was Head of Savoury and Healthier Product Development as well as Interim Leader for its European Product Development Team.
Gordon & MacPhail, the family-owned and independent bottler and distiller of Scotch Whisky, was founded in 1895 . Indeed it made history in 2010 by launching the Mortlach 70 year old Speyside, the world’s oldest bottled single malt whisky. Stephen George has joined as Head of Finance.
Producers of, amongst others, Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Hendricks Gin, William Grant & Sons has made two significant interim appointments in Senior Project Roles to lead its Global IFS Transformation Programme. Kirsty Beswick was previously European Head of Finance with Cigna and Kirsty Burns was Finance Director for Borders Biscuits.
Iconic Baxters Food Group continues its impressive global expansion and has appointed David Knowles as Interim European Head of Central Finance. He is formerly of Shell where was Projects Finance Manager.
Alness-based premium salmon producer Aquascot has appointed Dr. Andrew Davie to the role of Aquaculture Innovation Lead. He joins from the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling.

Dobbies Garden Centres, the UK’s leading business in its sector, has appointed Ray McCarthy in a Senior Interim Finance role as it continues its rapid growth. He was previously with Alexander Dennis.

Billy Emslie joins debt solutions specialist Creditfix as Head of FP&A from Diageo, where he was Global Audit and Risk Manager.
Michelle Primrose has joined Forth Ports as Group HR Manager. One of the largest port operators in the UK, it employs around 1,100 staff and operates eight ports including London’s largest port, Tilbury. She brings a wealth of experience to the role having previously built her career with BAE Systems, Balfour Beatty, AECOM and Sainsbury’s.
Commercial shipbuilder Ferguson Marine has appointed Carol Anne Knight, formerly of the Crown Estate Scotland and Babcock, as its new Director of HR.
With over 10,000 employees and operating across over 100 countries, Howden is one of Scotland’s major engineering businesses. It has appointed Jamie Davidson as Global Director of Reward and he joins from ASOS where he was Group Head of Reward.
In other HR appointments, Chris Morrison joins Menzies Aviation plc as Head of Reward from M&G plc and Greig Fairweather joins the Talent Team at Aegon UK. At Weir Group PLC, Lynn Franchi is now Reward Specialist at Weir Minerals and joins from Aggreko and Jackie Old has been appointed as HR Transformation Projects Leader. Claire Gill also joins Weir as Corporate Communications Consultant and was with Co-op Bank.
Ancala Midstream is an independent operator of oil and gas infrastructure assets in the North Sea and has appointed Colin Christie as its new Chief Financial Officer. He joins from Ortus Petroleum, where he was CFO.
Ross Mitchell has been appointed as Head of Strategy and Growth at Ithaca Energy, having previously been Business Development Manager at NEO Energy. Ithaca is one of the largest independent exploration and production companies in the UK with substantial assets in the North Sea.
Iain Currie, former Compliance Specialist at Enermech, has been appointed as Ethics and Compliance Manager at KCA Deutag, one of the world’s leading drilling and engineering contractors.
Rory MacKenzie has been appointed as Business Development Lead at OSSO, where he will be responsible for developing its footprint in the Production & Decommissioning markets. He joins from his previous position as Business Development Manager at Augean PLC. OSSO is a value focussed provider of specialist fluid temperature control and separation solutions.
Established in 1956, T&N Gilmartin is a 3rd generation family owned Fife-based contracting firm that specialises in landscaping, civil engineering, grounds maintenance, lighting, and surfacing. Steven Lynch has been appointed as Contracts Manager, joining from Ground Control.
