It has been another busy period for FWB Park Brown, both at home and abroad, and we are pleased to announce that we have advised on the following appointments…


The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) has appointed Kirsteen Campbell as its new Chief Executive. She joins from Skills Development Scotland where she was Director, Corporate Services.


Carole Cran, CFO of Aggreko plc is to join Forth Ports, also as CFO. Commenting on the appointment Willie Finlayson said “Carole is one of the UK’s leading CFOs and Forth Ports one of our best businesses – we are delighted to have played our part in bringing both together”.


Marketing Edinburgh is the organisation set up to promote Edinburgh to the world and has appointed four new Non-Executive Directors to its Board. They are: Claire Harrison–Church, former VP Customer Proposition and Planning, ASDA plc; Paul Rowllings, former Global Head of Channel Development, Wood Mackenzie; Stephen Ingledew, former Managing Director, Customers and Marketing, Standard Life plc and Sandra Blake, Head of Talent and Development, SSE plc.


Castle Rock Edinvar, one of Scotland’s leading large Housing Associations has also appointed four Non-Executive Directors to its Board. They are: Pamela Scott, Global Operational Excellence Director, Strategy and Standards, Diageo; Alison Freshwater, Solicitor, Product Finance & Structuring – Real Estate, Standard Life Investments; Deirdre Robertson, CEO, Harvillion Consulting and John McGuigan, Managing Director Customer Operations, Standard Life.


Mark Newstead joins Forfar based Don & Low, the internationally renowned, manufacturer of innovative, high performance woven and nonwoven polyolefin technical textiles as Managing Director. Mark was previously President & CEO of Total’s Marketing & Sales affiliate in Houston, Texas. Sean Cooke also joins as Sales Manager for its speciality Meltblown division. He was previously Strategic Business Development Manager for Irema in Ireland.


Crawford Gillies, who joined the Board of Edrington earlier this year has been appointed Chairman, succeeding Norman Murray who has announced his retirement from the company. Willie Finlayson commented “we were delighted to play our role in Crawford’s initial appointment to the Board and congratulate him on his appointment to chair one of Scotland’s leading businesses”.


Jim Ashe joins The University of Edinburgh School of Informatics as Director of Commercialisation and Industry Engagement. He was previously VP Commercial at Ploughshare Innovations, the technology transfer arm of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (the MOD’s R&D division).


Star Refrigeration is the UK’s leading independent engineering company in its sector and has appointed Angus Douglas as Group Financial Director. He is the former European Finance Director for Exova Plc.


CUBO, the professional association for Senior Managers in Higher Education has appointed Jan Capper as Chief Executive. She was previously the Executive Director of the International Association of Language Centres based in London and Canterbury.


Highland Fuels, Scotland’s leading independent fuel distributor has appointed Donald MacLeod as Managing Director and he will be based at its Inverness HQ. He joins from PDi where he was Global Operations Director.


Stewart Milne Group, one of the UK’s largest independent house builders, has appointed Peter Gregson as Group Head of IT. He joins from Hoover Ferguson where he was also Group Head of IT.


TWMA, a market leader in integrated drilling and environmental solutions to the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry, has appointed Kath Cable as Group HR DirectorBen Coutts has also been appointed as Group Engineering Director and joins from Hydrasun and John Verling is the new Group Sales and Business Development Director. He was latterly with LR Senergy where he was the Global Vice President for Business Development and Marketing.


Hydratight, an Actuant company, has appointed Euan Lockhart as MENAC Regional Leader based in Dubai. Euan was previously based in the region as CEO of OES Energy Services and prior to that, CEO of ASCO Middle East & Africa. Hydratight produces products for Oil, Gas, Nuclear, Powergen, Aerospace and Industrial markets.


Awilco Drilling Plc has appointed Damien Shine as Technical Manager and Sandy Stewart as QHSE Manager. Damien has held senior engineering roles previously with Stena Drilling and Songa Offshore, and Sandy was most recently a Principal Consultant at DNV GL following a period working as an Inspector for the Health & Safety Executive.


Stephen Ashley joins the Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) in Aberdeen as Digital Solutions Centre Manager from Maersk Oil in Qatar.


Thomas Hellman has joined Houston-based Marathon Oil Corporation in the role of Regional Vice President, Permian. He was previously the Vice President of Drilling Solutions for WPX Energy.


Nabors Industries has appointed Kent Hulick as the Director of Controls and Electrical Engineering based in Houston. He joins from Alert Logic where he was the Director of Security. The NYSE quoted Nabors owns and operates the world’s largest land based drilling rig fleet.


Enterprise Foods Limited, the PE-backed supply chain management business that provides the link between local food producers and national retailers, has appointed Aoife Kenny as Commercial Director. She joins from Head of Retail at Aryzta Foods, having previously worked with Kepack Convenience Foods, Burtons Biscuits and PepsiCo.


CMS Window Systems, the PE- backed manufacturer of aluminium and PVC window systems, has appointed Craig Reid as Contracts Director. Craig joins from Grant Westfield where he was Director of Contracts, having previously worked with Havelock Europa, Morris and Spottiswood and Royal Bank of Scotland. Gerald McSkimming has also joined as Director of Production, having previously worked with API Foils, CCL Design and British Vita.


One of the UK’s most upmarket major homebuilders, CALA Homes, has appointed Ed Smith as Technical Director for its West of Scotland business. Ed joins from Gardiner & Theobald, having previously worked with Heery International, Mace and Turner & Townsend.


Susan Hetrick has joined Bank ABC (Arab Banking Corporation) in Bahrain as Group Head of HR Development. She was previously with the World Bank in Washington DC as Head of Career Management and Executive Resourcing.


In a series of other HR appointments Grace Baxter has joined Co-op as HR Business Partner from Aegon; Helen Cardno is the new Head of HR at PE-backed StevenswoodMelanie Stead has joined Weir Group Plc as HRD of Weir Flow Control in Yorkshire; Allison Forrest is confirmed as Global HRD at Peak Scientific and Claire McMahon joins Student Loans Company as Head of HR Change.


The award winning Loch Duart, with its reputation for extraordinary tasting salmon has appointed Ian Laird as a Non-Executive Director. Ian is MD of Begg & Co, a quintessential Scottish brand producing luxury cashmere products for global markets.


Rob Kennedy, CEO of Optos, the leading medical technology company has joined the board of Fife Society for the Blind as a Non-Executive Director.


As it continues its phenomenal growth and success, Jonny MacNeal joins Edinburgh Airport as Aviation Business Development Manager. He was previously Business Development Manager with Insignia Technologies.


Karl Donnan joins Highland Spring as Head of Supply Chain. He was previously a Global Supply Chain Director with Unilever in London.


Scotland’s national dance company, Scottish Ballet, has made two new appointments to its highly regarded marketing function. Tony Currie joins from West Australian Ballet as Content & Digital Executive and Catherine Quinn joins from DF Concerts & Events as their new Marketing Officer.
