FWB Park Brown Director Judy Wagner recently spoke to ICAS’s CA magazine on the role of the Non-Executive Director for their article ‘8 Commandments for Non-Executives’. The article features a panel of 7 Chartered Accountants with extensive Non-Executive experience and focuses on the lessons the panel have learnt from their time in Non-Executive roles and what tips they have for current and aspiring Non-Executive Directors.
Alongside Judy on the panel were; John Anderson, head of SME engagement at Strathclyde Business School and chairman of Gabriel Investments; Jann Brown, co-head of business development at SOCO International and audit committee chairman with Wood Group; Robert Dick, a non-executive director of EPIC (Ediston Property Investment Company) and a business mentor with Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce; Andrew Dougal, former CEO with Hanson and currently audit chairman at two businesses; Alison Loudon, an investor and non-executive director with experience in a range of sectors; Professor Norman Murray, chairman of the ICAS Ethics Board and chairman of Edrington.
