It continues to be a busy time for FWB Park Brown at home and abroad and we are pleased to have advised on the following appointments:

Appointments

Scottish Leather Group, one of Scotland’s leading family-owned businesses, the largest manufacturer of leather in the UK and supplier to major global businesses, has appointed Dougie MacTaggart as its new CFO.  He joins from Cobham plc and was previously with Weir Group PLC and BAE Systems PLC.

One of Scotland’s major international companies, Weir Group PLC, has appointed Tayo Oyinlola as Group Head of Internal Audit.  She joins from Intu plc in London.

BAE Systems PLC, the FTSE 30 Defence business which employs over 85,000 people in more than 40 countries, has appointed Graeme McKinnon as Chief Counsel for its Surface Ships division in Glasgow.  He relocates from the Czech Republic where he was with Honeywell, having previously worked in numerous countries with British American Tobacco.

Fiona Larkin has joined PE-backed Dobbies Garden Centres, the leading business in its sector, as CFO.  She was previously CFO of Scottish Salmon Company PLC.

Major global investment business, Standard Life Aberdeen plc, has made two significant appointments to its finance team.  Gordon Mitchell joins from Tesco Bank as Global Head of Financial Business Partnering and Suchita Patel is the new Global Head of Performance and Planning.  She joins from TSB in London.

Atholl Duncan has been appointed as the new Chair of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation, which is at the centre of Scottish Salmon farming’s industry-wide initiatives and public communication.   He is also Chair of UK Coaching, an NED and former Chair at British Horseracing and formerly Executive Director at ICAS, Communications Director at Scottish Water and Head of News at BBC Scotland.

Donald Emslie has been appointed Chair of ETAG (Edinburgh Tourism Action Group), which brings together a wide range of businesses which make up Edinburgh’s tourism sector.  He has previously been CEO of Scottish Media Group plc and a successful Non Executive Director, including with Scottish Water and Scottish Rugby.

The University of Strathclyde has made a number of appointments.  CEO of Fintech Scotland Stephen Ingledew and the Space Industry leader Peter Young have become Lay Members of Court; CBI Scotland Director Tracey Black joins its Investment Committee and Scottish Engineering CEO Paul Sheerin has joined the Board of the National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland within the University.

We were also delighted to help appoint Sue MacDonald as a Non Executive Director of Maggie’s, the wonderful charity that provides free, practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. Sue is Executive President of People and Organisation for Wood Group plc.

Dance Base is Scotland’s National Centre for Dance and encourages and celebrates the potential for dance in everyone. Holly Wagner, formerly of Chiene & Tait, has joined its Board as a Non Executive Director.

Social Bite Restaurants, a division of the leading social enterprise Social Bite, has appointed Mark Ross and Keith Wilson as Non Executive Directors.  Mark is CEO of Vets Now and Keith is formerly CFO of Shepherd & Wedderburn.

Tom Hutchison has been appointed as Chief Executive of Montrose Port Authority, having previously served as Harbour Master and latterly Operations Director.

Energetics designs, builds, connects and operates multi-utility networks across the UK. To help support its rapid expansion plans, backed by leading infrastructure fund Infracapital, Kirsty Nellany joins as Associate Director – Business Services having previously been with Clyde Blowers Capital and Pinsent Masons and Jamie Sharp joins as Associate Director – Commercial for its Design & Build business having previously been with Kier, Costain and Black & Veatch.

Henry Boot Developments (a division of the listed property and construction business Henry Boot PLC) is the developer behind the newly-opened Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.  Matt Bellshaw joins as Regional Manager Scotland, having previously been Property Director at HFD Group and Associate Director at Colliers International.

Rob Wilcock has been appointed as UK Sales Director for major logistics company, Menzies Distribution.  He brings previous experience of the transport industry from a range of owner managed and national logistics organisations.

Stuart McNair has joined leading industrial supplies company Scott Group as Supply Chain Director for its Pallets division. He brings a wealth of procurement and supply chain experience from the aerospace and manufacturing industries.

Leading independent Business Advisory and Accountancy firm Chiene & Tait has appointed David Shadwell as a Partner (Accounting and Business Support).  He was previously a Managing Partner of Findex, a leading firm in New Zealand and a Partner in Deloitte.

Hugh Darby has joined Dundee-based world renowned scientific research centre, The James Hutton Institute, as Director of Finance and Company Secretary.  He was previously with the University of Strathclyde where he acted as Director of Finance.

Kelvin KBB is a leading manufacturer of Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms and has appointed Scott Thomson, formerly GM (Operations) of OKI Europe, as its Director of Manufacturing and Logistics.

Major UK Recycling and Resource Recovery business Enva has appointed Michelle Scott as General Manager (Scotland). She joins from Fishers Services, where she had the same title.

Baxters Food Group has appointed Graham White, formerly of Hain Daniels, as its new European Finance Director.

Campion Homes is a leading private housebuilder in Fife and has appointed Neil Martin, formerly of Springfield, as Land Manager.

BGF-backed Walker Precision Engineering provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services to a blue-chip customer base.  Amanda Robertson joins as Commercial Director from Stoneridge and Paul Carnie joins as Finance Director.  He is formerly of V Ships, Babcock and Weir Group PLC.

In other financial appointments, high growth and leading waste management company NWH Group has appointed Andrew Baker, formerly of Molson Coors, as Head of Commercial Finance. McGill’s Bus Services, the largest independent bus operator in Scotland, has recruited Alan Campbell, formerly of Campbell and Kennedy, as Finance Director.  Specialist paint company, The Paint Shed, has appointed Connie Minty, formerly of Edinburgh Airport as its Head of Finance and Strachans, one of the UK’s leading food distributors to the marine catering trade, has appointed David Hepburn as Director of FinanceAlison Graham has also joined Goals Soccer Centres PLC as Interim Controller having previously been Group Financial Controller of Arnold Clark.

In a number of key HR appointments Sandra Blake has been appointed as Global Head of Talent at the international engineering company, Howden; Karen Fleming joins leading housebuilder CALA as Learning and Development Consultant and Nicky Jeynes is now Head of Talent and Leadership at Tesco Bank.

Fast growing and PE-backed Optician, Duncan and Todd welcomes Cheryl Smith as Marketing and Communications Manager.  She joins from Savills where she was Marketing Manager.

Rachelle West was appointed Director of Business Development for Polk Mechanical, a leading US construction company with locations in Dallas & Houston, offering commercial, industrial, and maintenance services, in October 2019.  Rachelle has held several leadership roles within sales at her previous companies and has over 10 years of experience in commercial construction.

CITGO Petroleum Corporation has appointed Carlos E. Jorda as its Chief Executive Officer to be based in Houston.  Carlos has previously acted as President of PDV America and Chairman of the CITGO Board of Directors and has served as a consultant to large companies in the oil & gas industry.

Red Wing Europe, part of the Minnesota headquartered Red Wing organisation, is an established provider of PPE to a global community of customers across the oil and gas sector, as well as other industries. Jon Bodicoat, formerly of Dominion Gas, joins as its Managing Director.

RelyOn Nutec (formerly Falck Safety Services), the world’s leading provider of multi-service safety, survival and skills training, welcomes Bob Donnelly as UK Managing Director. He joins following 10 years at Return to Scene (R2S) where he was most recently Managing Director.

In a number of key CFO appointments in the Energy sector, Mark Walker joins global and market leading drilling waste specialist TWMA from ASCO; Michael de Rhune moves to Coretrax, provider of specialist wellbore clean-up and abandonment services and joins from Excellence Logging Group and Duncan Christie joins ROVOP, the global robotics specialists and was previously with EnerMech.

Opportunity North East (ONE), the private sector’s response to rebalancing the economy in the North East of Scotland, has appointed Jared Owen as Director of Digital & Entrepreneurship. He will play a key role in influencing and shaping the strategic direction for digital transformation in the North East and within ONE.

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) is the go to technology centre for the oil and gas industry in the UK and globally.  Formerly of Spirit Energy, Myrtle Dawes joins as Solution Centre Director.  This newly created role will act as the main leadership focal point for the seven OGTC Solutions Centres while developing relationships externally.  Martyn Tulloch also joins as Solution Centre Manager for its new “Net Zero” Solution Centre.

Olav Lundegaard has been appointed as Vice President Operational Excellence by Interwell, the international service company, and will lead operations in Saudi Arabia.  Previous to this, Olav spent several years, also in Saudi, with Baker Hughes and Halliburton.

Flowserve Corporation, a manufacturer and service fluid motion control company, has appointed Nick Dunn as the Vice President, FPD Operations located in Coslada, Spain.  He was previously the Vice President, Surface Pressure Control & Offshore Equipment at Baker Hughes, a GE company.

Zeina Sawaya-Melville is the new Commercial Director for Pryme Group, which provides turnkey services for global contract manufacturing; combining engineering design, machining, hydraulics, fabrication, testing and project management. She brings with her impressive experience from various sectors, most recently supporting strategic initiatives for Cromarty Port, having previously been VP Commercial at Sparrows Group.

Neil Ferguson joins Well-Safe Solutions, which provides a ground-breaking approach to the safe and cost-efficient decommissioning of on and offshore wells, as Operations Director. He was formerly with Transocean and will lead the integration of acquired drilling assets into Well-Safe operations.

Christopher Almond joins Canadian company PanGeo Subsea, specialists in Marine geophysical-geotechnical service delivery, as Business Development Manager.  He was previously with Bibby HydroMap where he was also in a lead Business Development role.
