FWB Park Brown hosts Life Sciences Manufacturing Dinner

Last week FWB Park Brown hosted a private manufacturing-themed dinner at the Life Sciences Association office in Edinburgh. We had 20 industry leaders around the table for an enjoyable and informative discussion about the challenges and opportunities in the sector.

Our guest speaker for the evening was Dave Tudor, VP Primary Supply Chain at GSK. Dave has had a most interesting and successful career with GSK and is passionate about manufacturing and leadership. He had led major transformation projects within GSK and currently leads a network of manufacturing site for GSK across the world. He plays an active role with the Scottish Government and is a member of the Life Sciences Industry Leadership Group and the Chemical Industry Association Council.

Major themes for discussion on the night were leadership, opportunities for continuous manufacturing, re-shoring and the growing global challenge of regulation. We also discussed the link between research, technology innovation and commercialisation and the need to continue to attract manufacturing investment into Scotland.

In his new role as Co-Chair of the Industry Leadership Group, Dave asked for input from around the table and views for the upcoming strategy refresh of the Life Sciences Scotland strategy.

A follow up round table event is planned for January 2017 at GSK in Irvine.
