Business Development Director

About the role

Our client has established a strong presence in both the UK and Norwegian markets in the care and maintenance of OCTG and linepipe for the energy sector. It has achieved further growth in selected international markets. In recognition that significant opportunities for sustained further growth exist predominantly in the international arena, the company seeks to develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve this growth in a focussed and sustained manner. It is envisioned that a high-level strategy will comprise organic and ‘bolt-on’ acquisitive growth, along with establishing and leveraging key strategic relationships within the OCTG supply chain.

Our client now seeks to strengthen its leadership team with the appointment of a proven candidate with the knowledge, credibility and track record to quickly become influential both internally and externally, making a significant contribution to developing and coordinating the implementation of a successful international business development strategy and leading new services development and adoption in current domestic markets. In the short term the appointee’s objective will be to work with peers and colleagues to spearhead the organisation’s drive to achieve the significant growth anticipated across new and existing regions and sectors. In the medium to longer term, it is anticipated that the appointee will become increasing influential such that they are a considered succession candidate to a more senior role in the organisation. Whilst the external facing capability of a potential candidate for this role will be essential and highly valued, the ability to engage positively and credibly with the existing team will be regarded as a pre-requisite of any appointee’s success.
