Headquartered in Coatbridge, Scotland, KRG Specialist Engineering Services provide precision machining and other services to a number of diversified clients across multiple sectors. The company specialises in precision machining, heat treatment, coating and welding of components and assemblies that are used in hostile environments in a range of industries, including oil and gas, aerospace, defence, marine, renewables and food.
A successful family business, KRG was acquired in 2014 by oilfield services firm, Proserv. In 2019, following a strategic review of Proserv’s service offering, the business was acquired by GIL Investments (GIL). GIL is a UK-based private investment firm which has a particular specialism in manufacturing and industrial enterprises, possessing a portfolio of 14 companies with a combined turnover of more than £400 million.
Through offering a fully integrated service, KRG can provide clients with a ‘one stop shop’ solution for their complete precision engineering and manufacturing needs, resulting in greater operational and cost efficiencies. KRG has a long and well established track record dating back almost 40 years and the business continues to invest in their equipment to ensure the highest standards of quality and service clients have come to expect. Historically, the business’ core market has been the oil & gas sector, where they have a strong and successful track record. GIL’s investment in KRG will support their ambition to expand the organisations’ existing capability through enhanced sector diversification.
To support the organisations forward-thinking strategic objectives, KRG seek to appoint a Business Development Manager to lead and execute their diversification efforts outside of the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have an established an active network in either one or more industrial sectors, including defence and aerospace. By identifying and following up on key opportunities, new business possibilities and additional revenue streams in these industries, the individual will contribute heavily to the growth of the overall organisation.
Due to the diverse locations potential clients may reside across the UK, the appointee must be willing and prepared to travel extensively and operate somewhat autonomously as they strive to strategically identify and develop new opportunities for the business.
