Gibsons (www.gibsons.com) is a Canadian-based midstream energy company, and a significant integrated service provider to the oil and gas industry in the U.S., providing transportation, storage, blending, processing, marketing and distribution services to producers of crude oil, condensate, NGL’s and refined products.
They are seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager as part of a program to strengthen their U.S. based team. The role is fundamental to our client’s growth strategy, and it will be responsible for helping to generate growth initiatives, both organically and inorganically. In conjunction with the Corporate Planning Group, the role will oversee modelling project economics, the delivery of competitor analysis on company assets and infrastructure in respect of market value, depreciation, and opportunity costs, and table recommendations to management on pricing strategy, strategic divestitures, and customer commitments.
Specifically:-
- Assist the US Business Development team in sourcing initiatives through his/her professional network
- Responsible for market, competitor and industry analyses, benchmarking, project proposals, cost analysis and business planning
- Perform identification, financial analysis and execution of new projects
- Develop strategy recommendations for projects
- Lead a small number of specialized professionals
- Build and manage relationships with upstream and downstream customers, external industry analysts, strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants, and other primary stakeholders
- Assist in the M & A due-diligence process including contract review, financial modelling and other associated functions.
- Model and refine project economics while ensuring OPEX and CAPEX assumptions meet or exceed internal benchmarks, and reflect the competitive environment.
- Stay apprised and update the senior team of all regulatory, economic, and development trends in the North American energy industry
- Create and run competitive analysis on company assets and infrastructure respecting market value, depreciation, and opportunity costs. Table recommendations to management on pricing strategy, divestiture, customer commitments, etc.
- Meet with current and potential customers to collaborate, problem-solve, and provide solutions to effectively reduce their net-back.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to determine development requirements, and routing or location concerns of new builds.
- Assist in the drafting, and negotiation of term-sheets, agreements, and contracts respecting: confidentiality, pipeline connections, terminalling and storing arrangements, rail loading and offloading services, joint ventures (PJVA’s), custom terminals, land sub-divisions, RFP, EOI, and CIM documentation, etc.
- Negotiate formal agreements with customers
- Coach and support others in technical matters related to economic modelling and financial analysis
- Perform project work when required
