Chair – Edinburgh Airport Consultative Committee

About the role

Edinburgh

Airport Consultative Committees are structured forums that provide an opportunity for the exchange of information between airports and other interested parties.  They make recommendations to airport management and other bodies, as well as being a place where there is an opportunity to reach a common understanding between interested groups about the nature of operation.  Edinburgh is one of 512 Airports throughout the UK that are designated under section 35 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982.  The Committees are not a dispute resolution forum nor do they have executive authority and their main task is to hold airports to account.

Edinburgh Airport Consultative Committee, which is independent from the Airport has members drawn from a range of stakeholders and interested individuals from Edinburgh, the Borders and Fife.

The Committee meets 4 times pa and following the retirement of the current incumbent is seeking to appoint a new Chair.  Suitable candidates will have previous board/committee experience and be comfortable operating in that setting and it almost goes without saying that they should also be interested in the subject matter.
