About the role
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is Scotland’s national symphony orchestra. Aside from performing globally with great distinction, it is a visible and influential organisation which plays an integral part in Scotland’s musical life.
The Chair will lead the Board and ensure that it is effective in its tasks of setting and implementing RSNO’s direction and strategy. He or she will support the Chief Executive and be a strong ambassador for the Company, including in its relationships with Ministers, Senior Civil Servants and Sponsors. Whilst knowledge of music is desirable, enthusiasm for the subject would be essential.
