Chief Executive

About the role

Central Scotland

Since being formed in 1997, our client has established itself as a leading expert in office design having completed and delivered both major and minor projects with a range of Clients including blue chip companies, smaller SMEs, charities and the public sector. Beyond its core space design capability, by both organic and acquisitive growth the company has developed a strong capability in a range of services comprising turnkey contracting, design and consultancy.

It is acknowledged at Board level that the company has a very strong business development culture and has experienced continued success at winning business in its core markets and new service areas. The Board seeks to strengthen the operational focus of the business with a view on improving profitability whilst also implementing a strategic review to determine the combination of services that may represent the optimal future value of the business.

As a result, the Board is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive to complement the more entrepreneurial style of the existing senior team to achieve these strategic objectives and ultimately enhance shareholder value. In effect, this new executive will be tasked with converting the strategic vision for the business, as devised by the Board, into reality in a timely and profitable manner.

The nature of the role demands the appointment of a senior executive with a successful track record in developing operational excellence and improved profitability and an individual who displays exceptional leadership skills associated with leading and directing people in a high quality, service based environment. The appointee must also possess the business acumen and market knowledge to determine the strategic service offering that provides maximum shareholder value.

Given the success the company has enjoyed to date, of key importance will be the ability to work closely with the existing team, whilst challenging the senior management team and addressing the need to grow bottom line profitability, and achieve the objectives and strategic intent of the shareholders.
