The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) is one of the world’s leading professional bodies and is an educator, regulator and thought leader serving its members and influencing on their behalf. It is also regarded as one of the world’s most powerful business networks with 21,000 members working in the profession and industry, many as CEO’s, Chairs and CFO’s of some of the best known businesses both at home and abroad.

In a fast changing world, ICAS has a clear strategic goal to support and remain relevant to its members and this will be central to the new CEO’s role, as well as ensuring that ICAS remains a dynamic and forward thinking organisation with considerable global influence. At the core of the strategy is ensuring that the CA qualification remains a pre-eminent and highly sought business qualification and that CA’s exhibit the highest standards of professional and ethical behaviour.

Supported by a talented Executive Team, the CEO will lead the implementation of the strategy which has seen ICAS transform and grow its reputation and this will require the CEO to actively engage with a diverse membership both in the UK and internationally.

The suitable candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

  • A visionary, innovative and inspirational leader with a strategic and commercial mindset
  • Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • A track record in delivering commercial growth, customer and employee engagement and service levels
  • An excellent facilitator and communicator who is at ease with a diverse range of audiences
