Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Kick ICT is a high growth IT group that was founded by Chief Executive Tom O’Hara in 2015. It is backed by BGF Private Equity, who invested in 2021. The company provides a range of IT services, specialising in financial systems, data analytics, technical and cyber services, and communications solutions as well as ongoing managed services and support across its range of service offerings. The group is both a Microsoft Gold partner and one of the UK’s leading certified Infor partners.

Headquartered in Strathclyde Business Park, Kick has enjoyed significant expansion in recent years through a combination of organic growth and a successful M&A strategy. The business has completed eight acquisitions to date with the most recent being Consilium UK Ltd which provides IT Consulting, Support, Cloud and Security Services throughout the UK. With the acquisition of Consilium, Kick has seen run rate turnover increase to £25m, with profit before tax at £4m and recurring revenues of £19m. The business has a portfolio of over 1000 customers spanning SMEs to larger organisations, across a variety of sectors. Kick now employs 160 staff and expects numbers to increase further following the launch of the Kick Academy, a project aimed at recruiting and developing school leavers and graduates.

To support their ambitious growth plans, Kick is now seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the Board. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and will lead and develop the finance function, manage the financial performance of the company and play a key role in driving the equity value of the business. The Chief Financial Officer will assess and improve the business model and conduct modelling and interrogation of potential acquisitions, ensuring that they complement and augment the existing business. Sector experience is not required as the leadership team will be able to provide all relevant support. M&A and corporate finance experience is crucial, and private equity experience would be advantageous. Given the strength and capability of the existing team, this opportunity may suit a first time Chief Financial Officer who has excellent rounded experience and who is ready to step up.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented finance leader to join an already successful, fast growing and highly ambitious private equity backed business and to make a significant impact to the value creation journey.
