Chief Officer EIJB / Director of the Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership

About the role

**No longer accepting applications**

Edinburgh

The Chief Officer will lead a major change programme, which will see services managed in 4 localities and developed to deliver effective, efficient and personalised support for adults with care and support needs.  This will be achieved through innovative, transformational and sustainable services through the integration of health and social care.  While challenges associated with achieving this vision are not to be underestimated, however the rewards are truly transformational.

The Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership was created by The City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian.  Staff remain employed by either the Council or NHS Lothian working in an integrated manner in collaboration with the third sector, local communities, services users, and their carers. With an annual budget in excess of £600m and almost 6,000 staff it is a substantial organisation which is developing its own identity and doing so in the context of demographic changes, significant financial pressures and other resourcing challenges.  55% of the social care budget is commissioned from external providers (not included in the staff numbers).

Edinburgh is the UK’s most prosperous city outside of London, the UK’s second largest financial centre, with a rapidly emerging FINTECH sector and a global reputation for the quality of its education and academic excellence.  It also has one of the fastest growing life sciences communities in Europe, world class international festivals, benefited from major investments in infrastructure and is a major tourism centre and gateway.  The Rough Guide recently voted Edinburgh the 4th most beautiful City in the world.  Simply put, it is an outstanding City.

This role requires an outstanding leader who is seeking a career defining opportunity.  Candidates will be powerful advocates of collaboration, inclusivity and partnership working and be both resilient and empowering with a clear sense of purpose.  They will have directly relevant senior leadership experience and be able to evidence a track record of success.
