Chief Operating Officer

About the role

For 30 years our client CHAS, Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, has cared for babies, children and young people with life shortening conditions and their families by offering palliative care, family respite and support. Three children die each week in Scotland from an incurable condition. Our aim is to be there for all of them.

We are currently looking for a new Chief Operating Officer to work with closely with the Chief Executive and wider leadership team to support and enable the extraordinary and brilliant work that CHAS does. As the COO, you will work with the wider leadership team to plan and deliver exceptional services along will directly line managing finance, property, estate, information technology, information governance and health and safety.

Aligned with CHAS’s core vision, values and purpose you will help advise the CEO and Board on strategy, delivery and deployment of their resources to deliver their strategic plan along with overseeing a high performance corporate services function. Strategic leadership and operating delivery oversight across the function will be at the core of this position.

Therefore we are looking for an experienced dynamic leader with a strong track record overseeing the operations of a limited company, public body or large charity who can demonstrate strong influencing skills. Ideally you will have solid experience working in a finance leadership position along with directing complex operations and delivery.

This will suit a highly collaborative individual who is used to working creatively across organisations and you will have a strong set of values to guide decisions you take and the way you work with others. The four main areas CHAS are interested explore are around your experience, ideas, approach and values.
