About the role

Established in 1997, ACS Clothing Limited is a disruptive and innovative Rental and Re-Commerce business providing clothing services into retail and directly to consumer markets through a series of partnerships. The business is the leading clothing rental provider in the UK “white label” menswear market and provides a range of services including within Re-Commerce, the provision of 3rd Party Logistics Services within Womenswear and Babywear and for 2021 the launch of Apparel Subscription.

The organisation boasts recognisable high street retailers within its client portfolio including Moss, Suit Direct, Slaters Menswear and online eCommerce businesses such as ASOS, HireStreet and MyWardrobeHQ.

The Opportunity 

ACS has bounced back from the pandemic strongly, having grown from c. 80 FTE to in excess of 200 with serious ambition to now scale the business, and as such are seeking to appoint an experienced Technology leader into the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer. 

The long-term business strategy is based on four key pillars of growth which includes Traditional ‘white label’ menswear rental and logistics fulfilment, 3rd Party logistics provision for womenswear/babywear and menswear rental, Re-Commerce and Apparel subscription. 

The appointment of a new CTO will allow ACS to strengthen its leadership capability within IT and develop a long-term digital platform and infrastructure strategy which will ensure systems are integrated and aligned to customer requirements which will in turn drive operational capability. 

There are several strategic projects the CTO will play a key role in delivering which include European expansion and the creation of a new operations hub, the development of digital platforms to help grow the ‘resale/re-commerce’ side of the business and the development of partner platforms. 

The new CTO will grow and develop an IT function that will have the right mix of inhouse experts and outsourced technology partners to support overall growth. 

 

Candidate Requirements 

We are seeking an inspiring, customer centric Technology leader who can bring experience of developing IT strategies in a high growth business. 

They will have an extensive track record in executing IT projects of varying sizes which improve overall platform architecture, integrate with customer applications and support growth. 

Whilst not absolutely essential it would be advantageous if the successful candidate has worked in a related industry including fashion, e-commerce/retail or logistics. 

They will bring a proactive, resilient and approachable style to the business, with the ability to see the big picture and provide meaningful strategic input to the Executive team.
