The Institute’s Commercial Manager will be a member of the Research and Enterprise Services team at RGU, but will be based at the Oil and Gas Institute and will work closely with the Institute’s leadership team. The Commercial Manager will lead a team of business analysts who will provide analytical support to the Knowledge Centre Managers and the Institute’s Associate Professors.
This is an important role, straddling many complementary areas and requiring engagement with university staff and industry to develop and deliver the Oil and Gas Institute’s business plan and profitability targets. The collation of market intelligence, market research, preparation of feasibility reports, business cases and market and competitor analysis are all key components of the job.
Proven knowledge and broad experience of relevant areas of the oil and gas industry are essential, preferably backed by some knowledge of the academic/commercial interface. Sound commercial acumen and the ability to design, project manage and deliver commercial projects and analyse their success are also vital.
