Deployment Director

About the role

Our client, Wireless Infrastructure Group is a fast-growing private equity backed business that installs, owns and operates wireless infrastructure across communications markets in the UK and Europe.

The business owns and operates communication towers, as well as Small Cell infrastructure solutions (deployed at street level in dense mobile usage areas) and DAS (providing a high-quality mobile experience across a variety of indoor venues including Retail, Sports & Leisure, Business & Commercial, Transport, Hospitality, Healthcare and Education).

The Small Cells and DAS business has been highly successful and currently leads the UK market. The business has significant expansion plans and a strategy which targets significant new network deployment over the next 5 years.

The business is seeking to hire a Deployment Director who will take charge of all aspects of Small Cell and DAS delivery including the management of internal resources and external contractors. The Deployment Director will manage the full lifecycle delivery process for new and existing projects and enable an excellent service for customers.

The ideal candidate will be process driven and delivery focused with significant experience of project management at a senior level in a similar environment. They will have experience of developing project teams and structuring relationships with external contractors (who for WIG will deliver the design and build of new networks) and being an intelligent partner to these organisations. They will have a technical background and experience across a range of technologies (including the provision of fronthaul and backhaul solutions) but need not have specifically worked in DAS and Small Cells. They will have exceptional leadership skills and be able to develop a small but growing team (currently 2 people).

In terms of personal style and fit the successful candidate will be highly energetic, focused, entrepreneurial and resilient. They will make things happen and take ownership, actively managing both external contractors and internal resource to deliver excellent projects on a “right first time” basis. They will have experience in engaging at a senior level within a fast-paced, results-orientated business and be capable of making a meaningful contribution to commercial decisions that will support the continued development of the Small Cells and DAS business.
