Director for People

Scottish Water is a public corporation, which is accountable to the Scottish Government for the provision of all public water and sewerage services to more than 2.56 million homes and over 153,000 businesses in Scotland. Through its Business Stream subsidiary, Scottish Water also operates in the non-household retail markets in both Scotland and England. With a workforce of over 4,000 and an annual turnover of roughly £1.4bn, it is the fourth largest provider of water and sewerage services in the UK.

We are currently advising on the appointment of Scottish Water’s Director for People. As a member of the Executive Leadership team the role is accountable to the Board, Executive team and Chief Executive for the strategic development, implementation and performance of all people, organisational development, internal communications, people change and workplace related activity within Scottish Water. The role will also play a key role in setting a strategy for Scottish Water to discharge its statutory functions and to meet the requirements of the Scottish Government.

We are seeking candidates with significant strategic, operational, and relevant functional HR leadership experience gained within a complex, commercially focused, multi-site organisation. Substantial experience and a deep understanding of HR strategies, policies, and disciplines, coupled with excellent stakeholder management abilities, is also key.
