Director of Hospitality

About the role

The Royal Yacht Britannia was Queen Elizabeth II’s floating palace for over 40 years. A Royal residence, Britannia sailed over 1,000,000 nautical miles on 968 State Visits with the Royal Family where they entertained Prime Ministers and Presidents. Now a 5-Star visitor attraction and prestigious evening events venue, visitors and guests discover the stories of life at sea for both the Royal Family and the 220 Royal Yachtsmen who served on board.

Having excelled in the visitor experience market, Britannia invested in the former Northern Lighthouse Board vessel, Fingal. Now a hotel and Scotland’s only luxury static floating hotel, in the four short years Fingal has been open, she has become one of the most unique hotels in the UK and is currently Pride of Britain Hotels, ‘Hotel of the Year’.

The role

The Director of Hospitality, a rarely available role, will manage the hospitality teams across two iconic 5-Star ‘properties’.

On Britannia your team will manage the sales of high-end evening events, as well as the event management, kitchen team and waiting staff responsible for their delivery. Plus the front and back of house staff who operate the very busy Royal Deck Tearoom that serves our day visitors.  On Fingal, your team will be responsible for everything associated with running a small luxury 5-Star hotel with a 2 AA Rosette restaurant: sales, reservations, guest experience, kitchen team and waiting staff, as well as housekeeping and light maintenance.

Leading a team of approximately 100 staff, supported by a strong Management Team, you will play a key role in the continued success of these very unique properties.

As well as a very rewarding job, with a great company, you will earn a competitive salary, with a profit related bonus scheme, 10% non-contributory pension and 33 days’ holiday.
