Finance Director

Sunergos Innovations is a business, previously known as Edinburgh Bioquarter Commercialisation Team, which will help universities to commercialise their intellectual property by providing venture capital and support to create successful spin out companies.

It currently works exclusively with the University of Edinburgh (rated 4th in the UK for research excellence) and NHS Lothian but its strategy will be to expand its customer base to other Universities in the north of the UK.  Sunergos has an experienced team and will differentiate its offering by not only supporting and investing in these spin out companies, but also by enabling deeper relationships with industry to strengthen the commercial impact of their research.

A key part of this strategy is to list on the AIM market in 2016 to allow further investment and the building of a successful portfolio of innovative, hi-tech companies.

The Finance Director will be a new appointment and will provide the strategic and financial guidance to deliver on these aspirations.

A critical part of the role will be to lead the IPO and the subsequent management of a listed company.  Candidates will ideally have a background in a high-tech industry and if they have experience of working in a PLC environment that would be advantageous.

Specifically, however, we are looking for somebody with an entrepreneurial, flexible approach who can be both hands on and strategic as the business develops.  This is most certainly a unique opportunity to be part of the team leading Scotland’s first indigenous venture investor company in this field and represents, we believe, a very compelling proposition.
