Finance Director

About the role

Leuchie House is a Scottish charity with a huge heart, expert health and care team and national reach. They pride themselves in a highly individualised and ‘can do’ approach to enable people with neurological conditions to have a fantastic break in a uniquely relaxing country house. Guests have a proper break, their health and wellbeing is improved and their carer can relax, knowing that their loved one is having a great time and is well cared for.

Having come through the most challenging of times, the moment is now right for them to invest in exciting and ambitious plans for expansion. These plans will take them beyond the walls of Leuchie House and bring passion and expertise into communities around the country. Extending their purpose, creating new levels of income and as a result make them a bigger and more complex charity.

First and foremost, as the title suggests, we will want you to be a great Financial Director and provide the quality of information and advice that allows all to make excellent decisions for Leuchie for now and in relation to the leaderships significant growth ambitions and potential. This is a job with real purpose in an organisation that makes a significant difference to people‘s lives. The role will include leading the annual budget, reporting process, annual audit, production of statutory accounts and management accounts and importantly reporting to support management and leadership on financial implications of decision making. Maintaining strong financial controls and keeping up to date with charity reporting will also be key whilst working closely with the CEO both in relation to the existing operation and the new strategy to grow “beyond the walls”.

As a key leader you need to have as wide an interest as possible in all activities and will deputise for the CEO from time to time. For example with over 100 colleagues (and growing), strong HR and IT functions are really important and you will want you to take a lead on these over and above your financial responsibilities. Your skills and experience will also support good corporate governance, business development and strategy.

You should also be comfortable in representing Leuchie with our wide range of stakeholders (including Government Ministers) and you will be the type of personality to relish the opportunity to create compelling business cases for support from investors and donors. We are confident that you will find a very positive culture of passion, support and collaboration at Leuchie and not only find the position fulfilling but importantly also enjoyable.

Leuchie is proud to be an inclusive employer. They recognise and celebrate the benefits that a diverse and inclusive workforce bring to their business, staff and customers. We welcome and will consider all applications regardless of age, disability, gender, race or nationality, religion, or belief.
