Finance Director

Part of the privately owned Scottish Leather Group, Bridge of Weir Leather is in itself a successful business with nearly 600 employees and profitable sales of over £100m.  It is the UK’s only leather manufacturer for the automotive industry and exports to over 60 countries, serving a variety of blue chip customers.  It also has huge history and heritage and has been at the forefront of innovation and quality for over a century.

The Finance Director will be a key member of the leadership team and will be operationally and strategically accountable for the finance function within the business and in line with the vision, mission and values.  The FD will drive business performance objectives through effective leadership and strategically positioning the business to maximise long term profitable growth, strong corporate governance and financial direction ensuring that the company contributes strongly to the group’s success.

Candidates will be professionally qualified accountants with relevant experience.  International and manufacturing experience would be advantageous but not a necessity. What is key is that they will have great attention to detail and able to take ownership for ensuring delivery of meaningful information to the business.  They will have the ability to see the bigger picture, to challenge the status quo and be an agent of change.  This is a fast paced highly commercial environment so self-confidence, tenacity, decisiveness and resilience will all be key.
