Financial Controller

About the role

Cromlix House is one of Scotland’s top country house hotels, beautifully located in a private estate just a short drive from Dunblane. In line with an exciting new future repositioning of Cromlix as an independent hotel, as well as further development and growth plans, we are now looking to recruit a first class Financial Controller.

The hotel finance function has previously been outsourced, however, the private owners now have plans to bring all management functions back in house from late 2022, along with a repositioning of the business and exciting new plans for further development of accommodation, Food & Beverage and wellness.

This is therefore a crucial role for the business and the Financial Controller will have full responsibility for overseeing, creating and managing new finance procedures across the business.  You will assist in the constant development and improvement of all systems and processes throughout the hotel to ensure systems and reporting are as streamlined as possible. The Financial Controller will also play a key role in new hotel development budgets and capex planning.

This position will have regular contact with Senior Management and the Owners and Cromlix Board and is a role which requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. You should be able to build strong relationships internally as we as be seen as the Cromlix ambassador in supplier relationships and all client financial relationships.

We are looking for a creative and driven qualified accountant, ideally with a hospitality background, although this is not a pre-requisite. You should be prepared to manage the department singlehandedly, but with the support of an excellent management team and a dedicated Board. Knowledge of hotel or events management finance systems would be an advantage.
