We have been engaged by a UK venture capital firm to support them with the appointment of a Director of Finance for one of their investee companies. The role will involve working closely with the investee company Directors and also the CFO of the VC firm.
The role will involve managing a small financial control and reporting function while supporting related projects which are being considered and undertaken by the VC. As such, the scope of responsibilities is quite broad and will require an ability to ‘master’ both the detail and the big picture. The preferred candidate will have at least 3-4 years of experience post practice and/or have excellent consulting, corporate finance or diligence experience. While not essential, some experience in the energy, construction or infrastructure sectors would be useful as would an understanding of a regulated industry.
Confident, proactive and organised with good (written and verbal) communication skills, you will be comfortable working within a small highly motivated team and looking for a role which is the front end of a developing industry.
