Our client, a leading engineering services company, is looking to appoint a General Manager to join at an exciting time when the business has a strong growth plan. The General Manager will initially have responsibility for Operations (including Purchasing and Logistics) and Engineering functions. The position will then undergo progressive development towards that of Managing Director. The business is an engineering solutions provider working with blue chip clients around the world. The facility operates flexible shift patterns and has a loyal and highly experienced workforce.
Customer service is at the core of the company’s values and work is completed to the very highest quality standards quickly and consistently on time to meet customers’ specific and often demanding requirements.
We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of leadership within an engineering services business and experience with highly customised order execution in this environment. An operational ‘bias’ is important as is a focus on service excellence and client demand.
- P&L accountability
- Operational and commercial management skills and experience
- Significant exposure to customers and key stakeholders
- An ability to progress into a role with MD responsibility in the short to medium term
- A strong understanding of the value proposition of service in a similar environment
