About the role

Hillhouse Estates Limited is a family owned business based in Troon, Ayrshire with business interests in Quarrying, Farming, Property, Hospitality and Renewables. Historically, quarrying has represented the majority of trading activity, and still does, but the Company has recently been investing in different sectors to generate growth and counter cyclical income. The opportunity has arisen to add to the existing strength of the Leadership Team, with the appointment of an outstanding Group Finance Director (GFD). The GFD, based in Troon, will be required to lead the finance strategy, in line with the overall strategy of the business. Consequently,  this role is as much a commercial and strategic one, as it is a financial one, and requires a dynamic individual who can support the business and add value at Group Board level.

The GFD will be required to lead in the delivery of best in class service to all internal and external customers and partners, ensuring robust financial systems, internal reporting, processes and procedures are in place. The provision of insightful management information and operational finance support to meet the needs of the business will be key deliverables of this role. The GFD will work closely with the MD and the Board to drive future growth, value creation and the positive performance of the business.

We are looking to appoint a technically excellent and highly credible Finance Director with strong leadership skills and high levels of emotional intelligence. Experience and alignment with entrepreneurial, high growth environments, with exposure to leading a diverse range of projects, investment opportunities and workstreams will be strongly preferred. The Finance Director will be a qualified accountant with a strong commercial background, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and will be expected to add value in all areas of the business.

This is an extremely compelling opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a very exciting, innovative and ambitious business, based in Scotland.
