Tesco Bank was formed in 1997 as a joint venture between Tesco plc and the Royal Bank of Scotland.  This retail bank has been wholly owned by Tesco plc since 2008.  Headquartered in Edinburgh the bank offers a range of financial products.

The People Director at Tesco Bank now seeks to recruit the Head of Colleague Capability to join the senior leadership team.  The Head of Colleague Capability will design and lead the development and delivery of colleague capability, organisation design and strategic workforce planning frameworks to ensure the Bank has the current and future people skills to deliver the business goals.

The role will be accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Working in collaboration with Group, lead capability team in design & development of colleague skills frameworks that attract, develop, engage and retain the capabilities needed for Tesco Bank to achieve its business objectives
  • Ensure talent and succession frameworks are embedded across the organisation through a leader-led approach
  • Develop and embed a robust strategic workforce planning strategy to identify people capabilities required for the future, alongside a robust plan to address identified skills gaps
  • Provide leadership on deployment, measurement and implementation effectiveness of clear Organisational Design/OE principles and frameworks to promote cost effective, consistent and “fit for purpose” structures across the organisation
  • Deliver action orientated & technology enabled, learning solutions to support colleague capability development. Define and execute inclusive resourcing and direct –sourcing strategies

Operational Skills and Experience required:

  • Outstanding leadership and organisational skills, with an ability to balance strategic and operational priorities
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships at all levels
  • Highly effective stakeholder influencing and communication skills
  • Significant experience in organisational design practices, strategic resource planning & talent/capability development
  • Experience of influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience of managing complex & multiple programmes of work, with a strong track record of delivery
