The Paint Shed is the one-stop-shop for all your painting essentials at low trade prices. Trade painters and DIY customers trust us to deliver the quality products they want, quickly and affordably. We believe that how people purchase paint is fundamentally wrong, and we are bringing the latest retail tools to the industry to correct this.

A family-run business, The Paint Shed has been supplying trade paint for over 60 years. We’ve grown a great deal to become one of the UK’s leading trade paint retailers since opening our first store in Edinburgh in 1991. The company is now in a state of rapid growth and change. Since January 2017 we have gone from 9 to 14 sites and grown turnover from 4.8M to a forecasted 8.5M in 2019. Today, the Company has 14 stores across Scotland with another 5 -7 planned in Scotland and the North East of England within 24 months and projected revenues of £12-14M by 2021.

Our online offering is one of the first in the UK, online customers across the UK and beyond have been buying paint supplies from thepaintshed.com since 2010. We offer a full range of over 5,000 product lines, from emulsion and specialist paints to rollers.

The Opportunity

Following the on-going growth and expansion of the company (both in turnover and in number of sites), the Board are now looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance to lead the finance team responsible for all reporting, management information and transactional finance for the business.

This individual, and their team, will be responsible for all core finance activity, including but not limited to Financial and Management Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Banking, compliance and financial systems and process improvements.

This is a crucial appointment to bolster the strength of the leadership team and quality of management information available to the Board. Alongside the delivery of robust and accurate financial reporting this individual will be responsible for high quality commercial and financial insight that helps enable great decision making and the on-going growth of the business.
